Meet the Team

  • Scott Donaldson

    CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF TECHNOLOGIST

Scott’s interest in computers started at a very young age when he started tinkering with old computers his mother brought home from her office. By the time he was 15, he was building his own computers and doing freelance IT support for his father’s real estate associates. At 21, he was hired by the Technology Center at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business as a student employee. After quickly making himself an invaluable member of the team, he was offered a full-time position six months later.

After numerous promotions, Scott ended up as the school’s Technical Support Manager, reporting to both the Director of IT Operations and CTO/CIO. In this role, he was the lead support technician, trained and managed student employees, managed the school’s fleet of hundreds of computers, and held numerous other responsibilities.

He met Phillip when Phillip was hired as a student employee at the tech center in the fall of 2015. With training and encouragement, Phillip quickly became the most capable student employee out of around 45 students. When Phillip applied to become the Student Staff Manager, he had Scott’s immediate endorsement.

While Scott had continued to do some freelance work while employed at Georgetown, he always wanted to turn it into a real endeavor, but knew he needed a partner. When Phillip returned to work at the tech center in 2021 after having graduated in 2019, the two began discussing starting their own venture. In 2023 the talks became serious and they departed Georgetown to start Codex Computer Services.

  • Phillip Steuber

    CO-FOUNDER & OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Phillip's career in IT started in 2015 on a whim, and he hasn't looked back since. As a first-year undergraduate at Georgetown, he joined the Technology Center at the McDonough School of Business as a student technician and met Scott. Phillip worked his way up the student team, first becoming certified in all three areas of the student staff (technology, audio/visual, and video) in just a year and a half. In his final year, Phillip took over the role of Student Staff Manager, overseeing 45+ employees and a team of four managers. He worked closely with the CIO of the MSB to ensure quality and efficient support for around 1,300 undergraduates, 1,350 MBA students, 112 professors, and 90 staff members.

Upon graduating from Georgetown in 2019, Phillip worked in Apple retail as a Genius Bar technician, gaining valuable knowledge on the intricacies of the Apple ecosystem. He then returned to higher education IT support at George Washington University, where he immediately began making an impact on the endpoint support team. Phillip's expertise made him a go-to resource for his team and culminated in him becoming the point-person for providing support to the Office of the President and his staff.

Phillip joined back up with Scott at Georgetown's MSB in August 2021 with a new level of experience. The two worked closely together on desktop support and endpoint management, and oversaw a new computer rollout that involved the imaging, deployment, and recovery of around 200 computers. With a wealth of IT skills between Phillip and Scott, the two knew it was time for a new opportunity, and they ventured out on their own to start Codex.
